Camp Preparation

We are delighted to welcome all participants to Norfolk State University for the second

annual Spartan All American Camp. To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and productive

experience, we kindly ask that all campers arrive prepared with the following essential

items:

  • Two T-shirts or sweatshirts per day

  • Shorts or sweatpants

  • Wrestling shoes

  • Personal items such as a mouth guard (if braces are worn) and any necessary medications

  • Optional: headgear, knee pads, supportive gear, a journal, snacks, and a refillable water bottle

Please note that alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, illegal substances, weapons, and

valuable personal items are strictly prohibited on campus.

​​

Onsite athletic trainers will be available throughout the duration of the camp to provide

support and address any medical needs.

​

Parking Information

We recommend utilizing the parking spaces located behind Building # 6 the University

Police Building, for both days of the camp. For additional assistance, please refer to the

Registration Details

  • The camp registration fee includes entry into the tournament.

  • All registered wrestlers will be automatically entered into the competition.

  • Registration will take place from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the gymnasium registration table.

What to Bring

Campers should bring:

  • Wrestling shoes and headgear

  • Workout attire (T-shirts, shorts, socks – a minimum of three shirts per day is recommended)

  • A refillable water bottle (water fountains are available)

  • Optional: knee pads and other personal wrestling gear

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Please be advised that no refunds will be issued after July 14.

Medical Protocol

In the event that a camper becomes ill or injured during camp, they will be directed

immediately to the onsite Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer will evaluate the situation

and determine the appropriate course of action. Parents or guardians will be contacted

to discuss any necessary treatment options.

Discounts

Sibling and group discounts are available. For teams registering eight or more

participants, each camper will receive a $25 discount. To qualify, all registrations must

be submitted under the team entry by July 1. Contact kirwyn.adderley@gmail.com for discount details.

Coach and Parent Attendance

Coaches are welcome and encouraged to attend and may join wrestlers on the mat

during sessions. Parents may observe camp activities from the designated seating area

within the gymnasium.

​

Age Eligibility

The camp is open to youth aged 8 to 18. High school seniors are eligible to participate.

No prior wrestling experience is required.

Tournament 

  • Round Robin format to guarantee  most wrestlers 3 to 4 matches 

  • Girls Freestyle 

  • Boys and Kids Folkstyle
